Homecoming
2005 - 50th Anniversary
Zeta
Upsilon is proud to celebrate a very special
Homecoming this year. Not only does this
Homecoming mark the 50th anniversary of
the Zeta Upsilon Chapter of Sigma Nu at
Arizona State University, but it is also
a time to celebrate and reflect on the accomplishments
of the chapter over the last 14 months.
The most important accomplishment being
the re-chartering of the chapter in an unprecedented
11 months, and in time to for the 50th anniversary.
The
chapter has grow over the last year from
35 candidates in Fall 2004 to the current
manpower of 29 Actives, 30 new Candidates,
and 2 new Alumni, and is well on its way
to once again becoming the top house on
campus.
Since
Fall 2004, the chapter has successfully
held two Rush events in which we were able
to recruit two Candidate classes which were
second to none, with 15 quality men in Spring
2005 and 30 quality men in Fall 2005. Zeta
Upsilon also held its first successful philanthropic
event, SigmapaNuza, an all day concert featuring
7 bands, food, sponsors, and more which
raised $2,000 for ChildhelpUSA. Not only
has Zeta Upsilon succeeded in hosting philanthropic
events, but has also been a major competitor
in Sorority philanthropic events. In Spring
2005 Sigma Nu won both Kappa Kickoff, and
Kappa Delta's Shamrock Project, while placing
second in Delta Gamma's Anchor Splash. In
addition to these outstanding accomplishments
the chapter was able to successfully host
both wet and dry social events and a Spring
Formal in San Diego.
There
are many success to celebrate this year,
and the current Active brothers of Sigma
Nu would like to cordially invite all alumni
of the chapter to join us in this celebration.
We will be hosting a free BBQ starting at
noon on Saturday, October 29 before the
ASU vs. Washington Homecoming Game. Alumni
and brothers without tickets to the game
are welcome to watch the game from our big
screen TV, and hopefully celebrate an ASU
win late into the evening.
Also
please stay tuned for information regarding
a special 50th Anniversary Re-Chartering
celebration this Spring.
